Gunmen wearing wigs take cash from Circle K
Mike Sakal, Tribune
Two men wearing wigs and carrying handguns fled with an undisclosed amount of cash after robbing a Circle K convenience store, 7602 E. McKellips, in south Scottsdale late Tuesday.
The two men, who were described as in their 20s, entered the store about 11:30 p.m. and demanded cash from the register, according to police.
As the clerk complied with the robbers’ demands, two customers, a man and a woman who were at the front counter, sat on the floor while the robbers took the store’s money. The gunmen then left the store and headed north, police said.
The victims gave differing accounts of the type of gun one of the robbers had, because one appeared to have a shotgun, according to police.
Police were unable to find either man, one of whom was wearing a red sweatshirt.
