Porter’s Pistons were eliminated from the playoffs Friday by the Celtics, while the Spurs were knocked out Thursday by the Lakers.
Porter had an initial interview with the Suns on May 15, prior to the Eastern Conference finals.
Porter might also be a candidate for the Pistons job if Flip Saunders is fired after failing to get Detroit to the NBA Finals for the third straight year.
Porter and fellow assistant Michael Curry are believed to be the front-runners if general manager Joe Dumars dumps Saunders — who, according to sources, would not be of interest to the Suns.
Budenholzer has been a Spurs assistant under Gregg Popovich for the last 12 seasons and became the top assistant this year when P.J. Carlesimo left to become the head coach in Seattle.
Kerr and Griffin spoke with Utah assistant Tyrone Corbin and Houston assistant Elston Turner for a second time last week during the NBA draft camp in Orlando.
The Suns, who have the 15th pick in the draft, will begin conducting workouts Friday with groups of six players.
