PHOENIX - A fugitive sought in the killings of two police officers in Mexico while escaping custody in 2005 has been nabbed near Phoenix.
The U.S. Marshals Service says marshals and Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers captured the suspect Wednesday at a dairy farm where he lived and worked in Buckeye, 30 miles west of Phoenix.
The Marshals Service says 31-year-old Heraclio Guevara Juarez was voluntarily returned to Mexico and turned over to Mexican authorities at the Nogales Port of Entry.
It says the suspect was sought in warrants issued by Mexican authorities in Zacatecas charging him with two counts of homicide, three counts of armed robbery and escape. It says he's accused of killing two police officers after being arrested in the robberies of numerous Mexican businesses.
