Fatal collision closes I-10 south of Chandler

A fatal collision between a semi-truck and an SUV on Wednesday led to a lengthy closure of Interstate 10’s eastbound lanes of south of Chandler.
Both occupants of the SUV died in the crash, which took place five miles southeast of the Riggs Road interchange, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said.
The driver of the truck was injured in the 8:43 a.m. incident, but no details were given.
DPS officials expected the freeway to be reopened in the early afternoon.
