Arizona State and Notre Dame will play a football game in Texas in 2013, Sun Devils’ athletic director Lisa Love said Thursday.

The game will be played at the yet-to-be-completed Dallas Cowboys Stadium and is part of the series of future off-site “home” games for the Fighting Irish over the next decade.

“We are excited to participate in this unique college football event,” Love said. … “We believe this will be a magnificent game for our fans and alumni. Our coaching staff recruits the state of Texas and this will only serve to assist in that area.”

ASU will receive an allotment of tickets for the game, which will be televised by NBC.

ASU and Notre Dame already have an existing home/home series schedule for October 25, 2014 in Tempe and for September 16, 2017 in South Bend, Ind.
