Man killed in car crash in San Tan area

A man was killed and a woman seriously injured Friday morning after a head-on collision in the San Tan area.

Pinal County sheriff’s deputies are investigating the crash, which happened about 8:30 a.m. on Hunt Highway near Arizona Farms Road.

Few details were available. However, sheriff’s officials said that a small car collided with a trash truck. The driver of the car was killed, and the passenger was flown to Scottsdale Osborn after she was extricated.

Hunt Highway traffic is being detoured via Arizona Farms Road and through the Magic Ranch Subdivision.

Authorities said traffic is expected to be redirected until at least noon.
