The Cardinals have signed another player to add depth to their roster, bringing in free agent linebacker Matt Stewart with a one-year contract.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Stewart, who spent all of 2007 on injured reserve with the Cleveland Browns due to a shoulder injury, is expected to serve as a backup and play on special teams. He spent three seasons with the Browns after playing four years with the Atlanta Falcons.
Originally a fourth-round pick in the 2001 draft, Stewart has started 61 games among his 93 career appearances.
