An 18-year-old Gold Canyon man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after he was caught by several Gilbert High School football players rummaging through lockers at the school, police said.
Cyrus Alborez Garshasb ran off after the players spotted him just after 3 p.m., police said.
They chased him into a neighborhood and provided police with information using cell phones as they followed him, police said.
Garshasb was apprehended in a backyard in the 200 block of South Quartz Court. Officers recovered several stolen items, including an iPod and several calculators.
He was booked on suspicion of burglary, trespassing and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
