Grant Hill will sit out tonight's season finale against Portland to rest his sore groin and Amare Stoudemire will be a game-time decision after skipping Wednesday morning’s shootaround with a chest cold that has bothered him for three days.
The Suns found out today that they would not have homecourt advantage against the Houston Rockets in one of the remaining playoff scenarios -- further increasing the chance that they will open the playoffs on the road against either San Antonio, Houston or Utah. And they might have a good idea of the outcome of Houston's home game with the Los Angeles Clippers -- a 5:30 p.m. Arizona start -- by the time they take the floor at 7:30.
Suns coach Mike D'Antoni said Hill felt good and moved well during Wednesday's shootaround but would be held out to give him a longer rest before the playoffs.
"Grant should be good to go by then, and this rest will only help him," D’Antoni said.
Suns trainer Aaron Nelson said the injury is likely related to Hill's appendectomy in January although not completely the cause.
Stoudemire was sick during Monday's win over Golden State and said he felt very fatigued after the game. He took part in Tuesday's practice but wasn't able to go Wednesday.
"He could be doubtful," D'Antoni said, although a decision will be made when he arrives at US Airways Center tonight about two hours before game time.
