Cards sign Vincent to 1-year contract
From Staff Reports
The Arizona Cardinals signed free-agent running back Chris Vincent to a one-year contract Tuesday. In accordance with club policy, terms were not disclosed.
Vincent (6-foot-1, 224 pounds) originally entered the league by signing with Detroit in May 2007 as an undrafted rookie free agent out of the University of Oregon, but was released in June.
The Philadelphia native was at Oregon from 2002-06 after transferring from Louisiana State. As a redshirt freshman in 2003, he started two of the 10 games he played in and recorded 163 rushing yards on 56 attempts while missing three games with an ankle injury.
He performed primarily on special teams in 2004 and was converted to linebacker during his junior season. In 2005, he appeared in 12 games as a reserve and was key on special teams, ranking fourth in tackles with 10 as part of the kickoff team.
He returned to running back for his senior season and registered 41 yards on 10 carries in just five games before an ankle injury ended his college career.
