Pinal County steakhouse San Tan Flat will take another spin in court at the end of the month.
At a hearing scheduled for 2 p.m. April 30, Pinal County Superior Court Judge William O’Neil is expected to determine if the Pinal County Board of Supervisors and a county hearings officer correctly interpreted a 1960s ordinance they say makes San Tan Flat a dance hall.
The hearing will be in Pinal County Superior Court, 971 Jason Lopez Circle, Florence, and is expected to take an hour.
For now, San Tan Flat patrons can dance legally, said attorney Jennifer Perkins with the Institute for Justice, which represents owners Dale and Spencer Bell.
In October, O’Neil stayed a $700-a-day fine the restaurant owners could have faced for every day someone dances in their outdoor courtyard.
