Body found below Loop 202 ruled suicide

A body found below Loop 202 near the Loop 101 interchange has been linked to a suicide, Maricopa County Sheriff's investigators said Tuesday afternoon.
An Arizona Department of Transportation worker noticed the man's body Tuesday morning and alerted Tempe Fire Department rescue workers, who had to rappel about 50 feet from the freeway to reach the body.
A Tempe fire spokesman said the body was directly below Loop 202 and could not be reached by ground vehicles.
Tempe police spokeswoman Sgt. Cindy Davies said investigators have not yet determined how long the body laid below the freeway before its discovery. Investigators have not yet released the man's identity.
A police officer on the scene said investigators were checking with tow companies to see if any abandoned vehicles have been removed from the area in recent days.
