Scouting report:
Coyotes – Phoenix is 1-1-0 on its current five-game road trip and one point behind Nashville in the standings. Forwards Shane Doan and Peter Mueller had their 13- and seven-game point streaks, respectively, snapped Wednesday at Detroit. The Coyotes converted 25.9 percent of their power-play opportunities in January and are now 14th in the league in that category (18.1 percent). Their nine wins in January are the franchise’s most in any month since posting 10 in March 2002.
Predators – Nashville started the season 2-6-0 but has won 24 of 44 games since to put itself in the middle of the playoff race. The Predators are 4-1-1 in their past six and 15-8-2 at home. They’re No. 5 in penalty kill (84.9 percent) but just 26th on the power play (15.7 percent). Winger Alexander Radulov has scored six of his team-high 19 goals in the past five games. Center Jason Arnott, who leads Nashville with 28 assists and 46 points, left Thursday’s victory over Columbus with a charley horse but is listed as probable for tonight. Forwards Steve Sullivan (back surgery) and Jordin Tootoo (groin) are out.
