Dead woman found in Chandler swimming pool

A woman was found dead Wednesday morning in a backyard swimming pool in Chandler, and authorities believe she may have been there overnight.

The woman’s name was not released.

The death was reported a little before 11 a.m. at a house in the 2500 block of East Beechnut Drive, near Gilbert and Riggs Roads.

Chandler Fire Battalion Chief Dan Couch said the woman was found by another woman, who then tried to pull the body from the pool and called emergency crews

Chandler police spokesman Detective David Ramer said the death appears to be accidental.

"They don't find anything suspicious at all," he said.
