A San Antonio-based business services company is opening a new customer-service center in Mesa for a Fortune 100 pharmaceutical company, creating 200 new jobs at a time of anxiety over the future of the economy.
West Business Services, a unit of West Corp., said it is in the process of setting up the business-to-consumer service center at 1906 E. Main St., providing information via telephone to consumers nationwide about how they can receive their prescription medications via mail.
The center will provide the service for the pharmaceutical company on an outsourced basis. The name of the corporate client was not released. “We are excited about the talent and growth potential Mesa has to offer,” said John Sanley, president of West Business Services.
He added Mesa provided a labor force well-suited to the company’s operation. “Our clients’ needs in the business-to-consumer space, particularly in the health care and pharmaceutical industries, are extremely customer-centric and require individuals capable of managing sensitive issues,” he said.
West Business Services expects to complete hiring 200 customer sales and service representatives in 45 to 60 days, said Tom McWethy, executive vice president.
Interested persons can submit applications in person at 1906 E. Main St. or go online at westbusinessservices.com, company officials said.
McWethy said the company has room to expand at the Mesa location, and “we look forward to that over the next six months.”The center is located in the same building at Main Street and Gilbert Road occupied by the InPulse Response Group, a separate division of West Corp. operating a 500-seat call center and providing business services to corporate clients.
West Corp. acquired InPulse in 200
Although separate from West Business Services, the success of InPulse was a factor in locating the operations together, McWethy said.
“That’s why it is a good fit for us,” he said. West Business Services’ clients include Office Depot, The New York Times, Reebok, Procter and Gamble, Kimberly Clark and Eli Lilly.
