Arizona State men’s basketball coach Herb Sendek said Tuesday that guard James Harden is still “day-to-day” for this weekend’s games against Washington and Washington State.
Harden suffered a groin injury midway through the second half of last Saturday’s loss at Stanford. He took himself out of the game for a few minutes, but returned until the outcome was decided. He was limping noticeably on his way out of the arena.
Harden didn’t practice Monday or Tuesday, but has been getting daily treatment.
“We won’t know,” Sendek said. “It’s one of those things where he has to feel better.”
If Harden is unable play on Thursday against Washington, the 25th-ranked Sun Devils (14-3, 4-1 Pac-10) would miss nearly 19 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game, as well as a top outside threat and the team’s best slasher.
