Scottsdale police and fire crews are investigating a fire Wednesday at a north Scottsdale home that caused a woman to be hospitalized for minor smoke inhalation and two dogs to be rescued from the residence.

The fire, which broke out in the home in the 10900 block of East Saguaro Drive about 5:50 p.m., originated in an oven and was contained to the kitchen, the Scottsdale Fire Department reported.

The blaze was extinguished in less than 10 minutes, according to Tiffani Nichols, department spokeswoman.

The 60-year-old woman, whose name was not released, was taken to Scottsdale Healthcare Shea hospital, and the dogs were unharmed.

Neither a damage estimate or the condition of the woman was available.
