2007 was a hard year to be a sports fan. But Arizona fans had a good run. Here are our picks for the top Arizona sports stories of 2007.

On the national sports scene, Barry Bonds broke Hank Aaron’s home run record — and was indicted on perjury and obstruction of justice charges.

Bill Belichick led the New England Patriots to an undefeated record — and was caught cheating. Michael Vick went to prison, Bobby Petrino slithered on his belly to Arkansas and the Mitchell Report became the official document of the Steroids Era.

You didn’t need a scorecard to keep up. You needed a cop log.

Thankfully, life was far more mundane here in Arizona.

Oh, there were controversies and scandals, accusations and denials. And that was just the Matt Williams steroids saga.

But for the most part, we were transfixed by the games themselves.

And from January to December, from Boise State to Arizona State, what a year it was.

Here are our picks for Arizona's Top 10 sports stories in 2007.
