Scottsdale police are following up on leads in the hope of catching a man who reportedly sexually assaulted a woman earlier this week outside Longshot Sports Bar and Grill in south Scottsdale.

A 29-year-old Scottsdale woman told police she was leaving the bar at 7436 E. McDowell Road about 2 a.m. Sunday when she was grabbed from behind and sexually assaulted by a man she didn’t know.
The woman arrived at the bar hours earlier to meet a friend who worked there; after the assault in the parking lot, the man ran away, and the woman drove home and called police, authorities said.
The suspect is described as white, 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet tall and weighing about 190 pounds. He had a “scruffy” beard and was wearing a red plaid flannel shirt over a black T-shirt and blue jeans.
The woman did not require medical attention, police said.
