A Mesa police SWAT unit used tear gas to get a burglary suspect out of a house where he was hiding Tuesday.
According to a Mesa police summary, Charles Caler, 20, refused to come out of the house after Curtis A. Goldman, 27, surrendered to police.
The incident began at 7:45 a.m. when a neighbor called police to report two people breaking into the house at 1952 E. Jarvis Ave.
Officers found signs of forced entry and yelled for the suspects to come out.
Goldman did and informed them that Caler was still inside.
Officers finally called SWAT after several attempts to get him to surrender.
