There is a $1,000 reward in Pinal County for information about two bank robberies, one on Nov 23 in Arizona City and one on Monday in Coolidge.
Police suspect that the same man is responsible for both bank robberies, said Sgt. Geoff Pacheco at the Coolidge Police Department.
The first robbery occurred around 4 p.m. at Great West Bank at 13540 S. Sunland Gin Road in Arizona City. The suspect is described by witnesses as a Hispanic male between 5 feet, 5 inches to 5 feet, 7 inches who appears to be in his mid 30s. The man had a trimmed goatee, a tan or white hat, aviator sunglasses, a red T-shirt and jeans, according to witnesses.
Investigators said the suspect changed his appearance for the second robbery at National Bank of Arizona about noon at 433 W. Central Ave. in Coolidge. The second robbery was done by a clean-shaven man in a black-and-white windbreaker with blue jeans and dark sunglasses, who is the same approximate height and weight as the assailant in the first robbery.
In both robberies, the man showed a note demanding money. A weapon was not visible in either robbery.
Police are withholding information about the amount of money taken, as well as information about the get-away car. They want to use that information to verify that the tips they receive are accurate, since there is a reward.
Anyone who has information that leads the arrest and conviction of the suspect is eligible to claim the reward. People with information should contact detective Kristina Heggs at the Pinal County Sherriff’s Office at (520) 866-5111 or Sgt. Geoff Pacheco at the Coolidge Police Department.
