University of Washington wide receivers coach Eric Yarber is leaving for a position on the staff of new Arizona State coach Dennis Erickson, The Seattle Times has reported.
Yarber played for Erickson at Idaho in 1984-85 and has been his assistant coach on three different teams. At Oregon State, he aided the development of receivers Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh. He is considered the best recruiter on the Huskies’ staff. A UW spokesman told the Times that “it would be inappropriate to comment until it’s official.’’ Yarber, 41, came to Washington after Erickson and his staff were fired from the San Francisco 49ers after the 2004 season.
