The Cardinals will meet with Chicago Bears defensive coordinator Ron Rivera on Wednesday to commence their interviews for their vacant head coaching job, vice president of football operations Rod Graves said.
Graves and team vice president Michael Bidwill must fly to Chicago to meet with Rivera, whose team has a bye this weekend before playing its first playoff game.
Graves and Bidwill will return to Arizona on Thursday to interview Texans assistant head coach Mike Sherman.
The two will fly to Indianapolis to talk to Colts assistant head coach/quarterbacks coach Jim Caldwell on Sunday, after the Colts play their wild-card playoff game Saturday against Kansas City.
Graves said the Cardinals are trying to line up an interview with one of the Steelers' assistant coaches up for the job -- either offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt or assistant head coach/offensive line coach Russ Grimm -- for Friday.
But either Grimm or Whisenhunt could be off the market soon, as both are considered top candidates to replace Steelers coach Bill Cowher. Cowher was reportedly being asked by Steelers management to make a decision Tuesday whether or not he was going to return in 2007.
