POCATELLO, Idaho - Senior Kelly Golob hit the gamewinning basket with 1:21 left and Kyle Landry added two free throws in the final seconds as Northern Arizona beat Idaho State 85-81 in Big Sky Conference action Saturday night.
"We really had to battle tonight," NAU coach Mike Adras said. "It was a difficult game. It was a mustwin for them. They played a great ballgame and had a chance to win. We just made plays tonight and showed great mental toughness."
Junior guard Tyrone Bazy had a game-high 17 points for the Lumberjacks (12-6, 4-0 Big Sky), including a perfect 11-for-11 night at the line.
Golob finished with 13 points, while Highland High School graduate Ryan McCurdy and Landry each contributed 12. Freshman Josh Wilson added nine points in the victory.
The Bengals fell to 7-8, 0-4 in Big Sky play.
