At Ogden, Utah, Cyrus Igono returned an interception 24 yards for a touchdown and blocked a punt for a safety as Northern Arizona beat Weber State 29-20 on Saturday.
Igono’s big plays came during a two-minute span in the first six minutes of the third quarter as the Lumberjacks (5-3, 4-1 Big Sky Conference) extended their 10-7 halftime lead.
Alex Henderson ran for 134 yards, including a 41-yard touchdown run to seal it for Northern Arizona with 1:47 left. Quarterback Lance Kriesien had 24 carries for 126 yards and completed 11 of 20 passes for 125 yards and a touchdown.
Weber State (2-5, 2-3) had a chance to tie it in the fourth quarter when Cameron Higgins scored on a 37-yard run to cut the lead to 22-20, but the Wildcats failed on the two-point conversion.
Brandin Williams returned an interception 53 yards for touchdown and Trevyn Smith ran for 170 yards on 26 carries for the Wildcats.
