The Arizona State men's basketball team received a verbal commitment from 7-foot-2, 245-pound Canadian center Jordan Bachynski on Tuesday, according to both Rivals.com and Scout.com recruiting Web sites.
He was also offered by BYU, Cal, UConn and Oregon State.
Bachynski is currently on an LDS mission trip in Florida. He graduated from Centennial High School (Alberta) in 2007 after he briefly attended Findlay Prep in Las Vegas, where an ankle injury required surgery.
Bachnynski will have five years to play four seasons at ASU. ASU's other 2010 commitments are guards Keala King and Corey Hawkins.
