FLAGSTAFF - Ruben Boykin Jr. had 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead Northern Arizona to a 78-67 win over San Jose State in a ESPN BracketBuster game on Saturday.
Northern Arizona (14-11) led by as many as 20 points in the half. The Spartans (4-22) managed to cut the lead to three points twice late in the second half thanks in part to big baskets from Lance Holloway and Julian Richardson.
Steve Sir sparked an 8-0 run for the Lumberjacks with a 3-pointer with 5:11 left. Northern Arizona went on to build a double-digit lead and never looked back.
Tyrone Bazy finished with 14 points in the win, while Ryan McCurdy had 12 points and eight rebounds. Sir had nine points.
Richardson led the Spartans in scoring with 16 points. Holloway had 12 and Jamon Hill 10.
