TUCSON — Arizona started a national search Thursday for a new athletic director after Jim Livengood accepted the job at UNLV.
University president Robert Shelton says he wants to move quickly to find Livengood's replacement but won't give a specific timetable.
Shelton says he's unsure whether the school will use an actual search committee, calling it more of an advisory body.
Meanwhile, Arizona's senior associate athletic director Kathleen LaRose was named the interim AD.
The 52-year-old LaRose is a 30-year department employee but says she is being careful not to openly campaign for the permanent job.
