Eleventh-ranked Washington swept Arizona State, 32-30, 30-26, 30-21, in Pac-10 volleyball action Saturday at Wells Fargo Arena as the Sun Devils honored their five seniors - Cheryl Anglin, Kim Mehlhorn, Mandy Stephens, Courtney Blocher and Jodi Proctor - before the match.
The loss ended the 2003 season for the Sun Devils (9-18, 4-14 Pac-10).
BASKETBALL
Melissa Murray, a Hamilton High School product, scored 18 points, Allie Gard (Arcadia) added 17 and Kayli Kauzlarich contributed 11 as Mesa Community College (5-1, 1-0) topped Chandler-Gilbert Community College, 70-58, in the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference opener for both women's teams on Saturday at Mesa.
Kelly Goodman (Gilbert) scored 23 points for Chandler-Gilbert.
