TUCSON — Arizona starting running back Nic Grigsby sprained his left ankle in practice on Friday.

Coach Mike Stoops said the injury, which occurred in the second practice of fall camp, did not appear to be serious.

Grigsby, a junior from Whittier, Calif., rushed for 1,153 yards last season, averaging 5.4 yards per carry. His 13 rushing touchdowns last season were third-most in Wildcats history.

The Wildcats are practicing in the early morning hours to escape the triple-digit heat of the afternoon.
