The Arizona State baseball program will dedicate Jim Brock Ballpark on Jan. 20 during Alumni Weekend, honoring the late Jim Brock, who coached ASU to two national championships during his 23 years at ASU.

The baseball facility will be known as Winkles Field-Packard Stadium at Brock Ballpark.

Brock battled cancer throughout the 1994 season and passed away just days after the College World Series that year.

The weekend will conclude with the annual Alumni Game, to be played at 1 p.m. Jan. 21 at the stadium. There will be a pregame ceremony to honor Brock, as well as a special tribute to the 1981 national championship team.

Brock was inducted into the ABCA College Baseball Hall of Fame in 1998 and was the 1977 and 1981 NCAA Coach of the Year. Additionally, Brock was a five-time winner of the Pac-10 Coach of the Year award (1981, 1982, 1984, 1988, 1993). Brock was an alumnus of ASU, earning a bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degree.
