Coyoyes assign Aebischer to San Antonio

Coyotes goaltender David Aebischer cleared waivers Wednesday and was assigned to the San Antonio Rampage, the Coyotes’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate.

Aebischer, 29, appeared in one game for the Coyotes this season and stopped 30 of 33 shots in a 3-0 loss at Columbus on Oct. 10. The Fribourg, Switzerland native signed with the Coyotes as a free agent on July 19, 2007.

For his career, Aebischer has played in 214 NHL games, compiling a 106-74-12-5 record, including 13 shutouts, as well as a 2.52 goals against average (GAA) and a .912 save percentage (SV%) in seven seasons with Colorado, Montreal and the Coyotes. He has also posted a 6-5 record with a 2.07 GAA and .922 SV% in 13 career playoff games.

Aebischer was originally drafted by Colorado in the 6th round (161st overall) of the 1997 NHL Entry Draft.
