The Cardinals signed kicker Jay Feely to a two-year contract on Friday, further reducing the odds Neil Rackers will return to the team next season.
Feely is a nine-year NFL veteran who spent the past two seasons kicking for the New York Jets. In the 2009 regular season he scored 122 points, the third highest total in team history. He made 30 of 36 field goals and all 32 extra points in helping the Jets reach the AFC Championship game.
It was the sixth time in nine career seasons that he eclipsed the 100-point plateau.
An undrafted free agent out of Michigan in 2001, Feely spent his first four seasons with the Falcons and kicked in all 64 games before signing with the New York Giants as a free agent in 2005.
He played for the Giants for two seasons before kicking for the Miami Dolphins in 2007. He signed with the Jets as a free agent in 2008.
