Stanford was able to silence the Arizona State bats, as the Sun Devils managed to collect just three hits in a 7-1 loss Friday at Palo Alto, Calif.

Stanford jumped on the Devils (28-15, 7-6 Pac-10) early, going up 2-0 after one inning. ASU starter Josh Satow did not record an out as all four Cardinal batters he faced picked up hits, and both runs were charged to him.

The Cardinal struck again in the second, as Chris Minaker’s RBI triple gave Stanford a 3-0 lead. Cord Phelps drove home two more with a two-out single.

Greg Reynolds went the distance for Stanford, allowing only three hits and one run to improve to 4-3.

Preston Paramore provided the only fireworks for ASU with his third home run of the season, a solo shot to right in the sixth. Ike Davis and Frank Mesa were the only other Sun Devils to get hits off Reynolds.
