Yavapai College small forward Bryson Krueger, a Mountain Pointe High School graduate, has given Arizona State University a nonbinding oral commitment.
The 6-foot-7 Krueger was named the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference basketball Player of Year after leading the Roughriders to the league and region championship and a berth in the NJCAA tournament. He averaged 18.5 points.
Krueger originally signed with Vanderbilt but left and played last season at Yavapai.
Kruger was one of four players suspended from the team prior to the national tournament for "conduct inappropriate for a studentathlete," according to athletic director Bob Bockrath.
The Arizona State women’s team finished 14th Tuesday at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational at Austin, Texas.
The Sun Devils shot 332 in the final round to finish at 138-over-par 1,002.
Freshman Tiffany Tavee, from Dobson High, led the Sun Devils all week and finished in a tie for 23rd at 23 over (80-80-79—239).
Sophomore Alissa Kuczka (245) finished in a tie for 41st, junior Erin Tone (253) tied for 64th, freshman Lindsay Anderson (265) tied for 84th and junior Nicole Deacon (279) came in 92nd.
