Coyotes goalie Alex Auld cleared waivers Tuesday morning and was assigned to San Antonio of the American Hockey League.
There are now four goalies with Phoenix’s top minor league team so the organization is exploring making a corresponding move.
In nine games with the Coyotes this season, Auld was 3-6-0 with a 3.54 goals-against average and .880 save percentage. Auld became expendable when Phoenix acquired Ilya Bryzgalov off waivers from Anaheim on Saturday.
