LOS ANGELES - UCLA starter Dave Huff put on a performance, striking out six in a complete game to help lead the Bruins to a 5-1 victory over No. 10 Arizona State on Saturday in Pac-10 baseball action.
Jeff Urlaub (5-1) took the loss despite allowing just four hits and three runs in six-plus innings of work.
The Sun Devils (28-13, 7-4) managed only two hits off Huff in the loss.
UCLA scored two in the first off Urlaub, but ASU got one back in the top of the second. Ike Davis started the inning with a single, then moved to second on a C.J. Retherford sacrifice. Davis then moved to third on a wild pitch and came around to score on a Brett Wallace RBI single to center.
But that would be all the Devils could muster off Huff (5-2), who pitched his second straight complete game for UCLA (22-16, 6-5).
From the second inning until the seventh, the Bruins pitcher set down 14 Sun Devils in a row until a walk to Davis broke the string.
No other Sun Devil batter reached base after the walk.
