For the second year, Jerry Colangelo's shot at being inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame has fallen short. "I was advised I was not one of the inductees," Colangelo said Sunday night.
Colangelo first was nominated for the Hall of Fame last year and again this year.
The latest class of inductees is scheduled to be announced today. Colangelo said he did not know the identities of those who will be announced.
Colangelo has operated the Suns in one form or another since 1968, when — at age 28 — he was named the club's general manager. He is now the part-owner and chairman of the club and serves as chairman of the NBA's board of governors.
