The Cardinals signed linebacker Clark Haggans on Wednesday, Haggans’ agent Jeff Sperbeck confirmed. Haggans has played for the Pittsburgh Steelers for the past eight seasons.
The Steelers picked Haggans in the second round of the 2000 draft. He recorded six sacks in 2004 and nine in 2005. He also had a sack in the Steelers’ 2006 Super Bowl win over Seattle.
The Cardinals also re-signed defensive end Joe Tafoya, who filled in when Bertrand Berry went down with a season-ending injury last year, and receiver Jerheme Urban.
Tafoya signed a two-year deal for $1.7 million, including a $225,000 signing bonus, a league source confirmed.
Also signing again were receiver Ahmad Merritt, who spent last season on injured reserve, and defensive end Bo Schobel, who played in two games last season.
Offensive lineman Elton Brown has signed his one-year qualifying offer of more than $900,000.
