NAU opens Big Sky Conference play next Saturday at Weber State.
Neither team scored in the third quarter, though NAU did pick off two Wes Marshall passes in the quarter, the first of which was intercepted by K.J. Gerard at the NAU 1 on the opening possession of the half. Marcus McIlwain made a pick on the Thunderbirds’ next possession.
NAU also recovered two fumbles, one apiece by Bruce Branch, who had a game-high 10 tackles, and Jeff Singleton.
