Amare Stoudemire, the reigning rookie of the year, will return to the starting lineup Tuesday when the Suns host the Denver Nuggets, coach Mike D'Antoni said Sunday.
Stoudemire missed 18 games with an ankle injury suffered Dec. 5 in Boston before returning in a reserve role in the Suns' 113-93 loss to the Sacramento Kings on Friday.
Also starting will be rookie Leandro Barbosa at the point, Joe Johnson at the off guard, Shawn Marion at small forward and Jake Voskuhl at center, D'Antoni said.
The Suns are in the middle of a four-day gap between games, but they're not exactly taking it easy.
D'Antoni put them through a grueling two-hour practice Sunday, as he tries to get them in shape to be a running team for the rest of the season.
"We have to have a commitment to it, and stay the course," he said.
