The Suns are returning to their old fall stomping grounds.
They will once again conduct their annual training camp in Flagstaff thanks to a change in the agreement between the NBA and its players.
The Suns had trained at Northern Arizona University most years since the mid-1980s. They stayed at home last fall because of a much-criticized system adopted by the NBA and the Players Association in which veterans and young players had different reporting dates.
Rather than shuffle players back and forth between Phoenix and Flagstaff, the Suns decided to stage their camp at Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix.
That system has been dumped, as the NBA is re turning to a singlereporting date, Suns president Bryan Colangelo said. The players and owners merely need to sign off on the details.
"We’ve made a commitment to return to Flagstaff for training camp," Colangelo said.
