Suns chairman Jerry Colangelo and retired superstar Charles Barkley met Monday morning and "buried" their differences, Colangelo said.
Colangelo declined to say, however, whether Barkley eventually will be installed in the club's Ring of Honor, saying, "I don't want to say anything on that yet."
Barkley and Colangelo parted on poor terms when the Suns traded the fading superstar in 1996.
Barkley recently said the Suns declined to sell him season tickets. Colangelo said he knew nothing about this and that he hadn't confirmed Barkley's story within the club.
On Monday, Colangelo said, "It was a long overdue meeting. We both agreed to bury the past."
The Suns chairman said Barkley expressed that he'd been carrying the "burden" of his estrangement for some time.
"He wants to be part of the family again."
Barkley would only say, "Everything will be fine."
