Arizona Right to Life will present its McWhirter Award to the board of the Arizona State Council of Knights of Columbus Friday Sept. 6 for “outstanding and faithful support” and advocacy for “the sanctity of life in Arizona.” It will be given during a Right to Life banquet at Chaparral Suites Resort Scottsdale, 5001 N. Scottsdale Road.

In the past, the award has been given to an individual, but the Knights were chosen for donating more than $20,000 and thousands of volunteer hours to groups seeking an end to abortions. Internationally, Knights councils have donated more than $1.8 million to the cause.

The Knights of Columbus, with 1.7 million members in North America, is the world’s largest Catholic family fraternal organization.
