Messiah’s Mansion, a fullscale model of what may have been Moses’ sanctuary, has been set up at the southeast corner of Power and Elliot roads in Gilbert.
According to Phil Draper of the Arizona Conference of Seventh-day Adventists in Scottsdale, the traveling replica simulates what “you would have seen if you were alive in the days of the children of Israel.” The display explains ceremonies and symbols and how they pointed to events like the baptism and crucifixion of Jesus.
The tour is divided into five sections, each taking about 15 minutes. They are offered 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily starting today through Dec. 10. The courtyard contains an altar of sacrifice and a laver, a holy place with showbread, and an altar including golden candlesticks. A model ark of the covenant contains the Ten Commandments, and there is a pot of manna and a replica of Aaron’s rod.
Tours are free. (480) 239-8673 or www.messiahsmansion.org.
