Evangelism training: The Way of the Master one-day evangelism crash course will be presented 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. June 9 at Springdale Village Retirement Center, 7255 E. Broadway Road. The free class teaches skills in reaching strangers with Christianity. Dinner will be provided. Participants may get hands-on, in-the-street experience with instructor Linda Essary. Course in Miracles: A Course in Miracles is offered 7 p.m. Wednesdays at Interfaith Unity Church, 1731 W. Baseline Road. Participants follow a spiritual path that shares themes with Christianity, Eastern mysticism and modern psychology, with a central teaching of forgiveness. Jesus misquoted: The adult Sunday school class of Celebration of Life Presbyterian Church, 2530 S. Alma School Road, offers a series based on the book “Misquoting Jesus” by biblical scholar Bart Ehrman. The class is 8:45 a.m. Sundays. Immigration conference: Franciscan Renewal Center will host the third annual conference on border issues and immigration July 20-21 at 5802 E. Lincoln Drive. “Economics and the Immigrant” speakers include the Rev. Divorce support: A new group of DivorceCare, a recovery seminar and support group, meets 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays at Grace Community Church, 1200 E.
