Jesuit Alumni of Arizona, a community of hundreds of Valley residents with educational ties to Jesuit educational institutions, has announced its 2008-09 lecture series, with all but one to be held at Thunderbird High School, 1750 W. Thunderbird Road, Phoenix. Most will be 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
On Sept. 14, author Robert Blair Kaiser will discuss his novel, “Cardinal Mahony,” which offers Kaiser’s “action plan for the future of the Catholic Church in America.” On Oct. 14, Jesuit theologian and author David Schultenover will discuss how the Jesuits were rededicated “outward toward a new commitment to faith and justice in the world at large” after Vatican II. Seven other speakers have been announced through April. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door; with students $5 in advance and $10 at the door.
