“Overcoming Life’s Seven Common Tragedies: Opportunities for Discovering God” is a workshop led by Chris Benguhe 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 23 at the Franciscan Renewal Center, 5802 E. Lincoln Drive, Paradise Valley. Benguhe is an author, a columnist for the Catholic Sun and a former editor and writer for People magazine.

The life of the 20th-century saint St. Therese of Lisieux will be dramatized at 7 p.m. Oct. 1 at the center. Dorothy Pawlowski will do a one-woman show closely based on Therese’s autobiography, “Story of a Soul.” The score for the show was performed by a full orchestra and was composed by a cloistered Carmelite nun. For more information, call (480) 948-7460 or visit www.thecasa.org.
