NEW YORK - Norah Jones and Wyclef Jean have recorded a ballad to raise funds for hurricane aid. "Any Other Day" will only be offered digitally through MSN Music.

It will be available for download starting Friday for 99 cents; all proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross and Americares for Gulf Coast Hurricane Relief, according to a statement released Thursday.

Both Jones and Jean helped write the song, which is written from the perspective of victims seeking help and refuge from a "hard rain." Its lyrics include the lines: "I see the airplane. I hear the engine on the boat. But you all can't see me waving the flag. Somebody please wave the flag."

Jean said his childhood in Haiti showed him how devastating a hurricane can be.

"My heart is filled with tears for the victims and all those who have lost loved ones in Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. No one can challenge Mother Nature. All we can do now is band together the best we can as one family and help everyone get back on their feet," he said in the statement.
