The Mesa Arts Center has applied for a grant from ArtPlace - a national group - to place multimedia boxes on its campuses. The boxes would provide the ability for visitors to showcase their own work. Lang Lang, the pianist named one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in 2009, will perform Jan. 6, 2011, at Mesa Arts Center. Tickets to his concert will be offered at a discount during MAC’s Black Friday Sale.
Six-year-old Jorge (last name unknown) plays with a chipmunk puppet in a class at Mesa Arts Center. Children ages 2-12 can participate in MAC's music, dance, drama and puppetry courses for a cut rate this summer. Space is limited, so sign up early at (480) 644-6520.
The 1,588-seat Ikeda Theater is among four theaters at Mesa Arts Center that will be available rent-free for one-time performances by local non-profit groups, thanks to a sponsorship program by the Mesa Arts Center Foundation. Groups must apply for a sponsorship online at www.mesaartscenter.com.
The Store at Mesa Arts Center is clearing out its inventory for the summer with markdowns of 20- to 70-percent. The sale lasts through May.
